Our Work
Empowering sex workers through advocacy, community support, and health initiatives. Our comprehensive approach addresses the diverse needs of sex workers across Malawi.
1. Advocacy & Legal Reform
NeSeD works to influence laws, policies, and practices that affect sex workers. We push for the decriminalization of sex work, protection against violence, and access to justice. We engage policymakers, law enforcement, the judiciary, and the public to create legal frameworks that respect sex workers' rights.

2. Community Empowerment
We strengthen the capacity of sex worker-led organizations to mobilize, lead, and advocate for themselves. Through leadership training, organizational development, and peer education, we ensure that sex workers are equipped to claim their rights and shape their futures.

3. Health & Well-Being
Sex workers face high barriers to accessing quality health services. NeSeD promotes access to HIV prevention and treatment, sexual and reproductive health, mental health services, and harm reduction. We work with partners to make services inclusive, respectful, and stigma-free.

4. Research & Documentation
We gather evidence to support our advocacy. NeSeD documents human rights violations, monitors the legal environment, and conducts participatory research that reflects the lived experiences of sex workers in Malawi. We turn this evidence into action.

5. Capacity Building & Training
We offer technical support, skills development, and knowledge-sharing opportunities for community-based organizations and activists. We host workshops, dialogues, and learning sessions to build stronger, more informed movements.

6. Network Coordination & Partnerships
NeSeD brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including sex worker organizations, NGOs, donors, and human rights defenders. We coordinate joint campaigns, build solidarity across movements, and represent Malawi in regional and international spaces.
